...but who could resist when given a kiss by the infamous Damien Thorn
fullview w/o DA watermark[link] (but still with my watermark)
Edit - I'm resubmitting it as a print after loads of requests and people asking why it isn't one; if you want a larger sized print than what's available let me know and I'll up the size but first I wanted to make certain no one can dl the original size as I am a tad paranoid that once I hit "submit" it'll be available for anyone to save.
Warning: Print may be darker than what appears on your monitor.
And if you're one of those people who noted me, or made a comment or wrote me a letter begging me to buy a print account just so I can sell this print, and you don't end up buying one, then doom on you.
Probably in the future if you can't afford to buy a cheeseburger, it's a good idea not to tell someone you "would buy a print if only it was up for sale" when what you really mean is "I will buy a print after my endeavors as a short order cook have come to a halt & I get a real job". No hard feelings, but wasting someone's time in order to pay them a compliment is not flattering in the least. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
There was more to the rhyme, but it was superfluous. This is a combo painting and photo manip. The characters are mine, but a lot of photos were added to the background & foreground during the painting process. I worked on this in photoshop and then painter for brushstrokes. I must have spent 40-60 hours on this, the bench alone took me 3-4. I never thought anything could be more difficult to paint than striped stockings, and I was wrong.
Aw, why'd I miss this in cgtalk. Great work.
I didn't follow the strand from the pink balloon, going over Mr Thorn, too well... thought it was some design on his clothes until I followed it going from his pants to over his wrist. The way it goes over his wrist is very provocative. It's not really a natural way for it to somehow end up like that, so it feels very deliberate and I wonder what you're trying to say with it. It feels restrictive, as if it's over his hand in order to tie him down. Then the way the balloon strands crisscross and fall, it's sort of romantic, but still edgy and dark.
I like the way the narrative goes back and forth, based on the painting itself and that little poem. Is this a case the bad boy seducing the good girl?
The demon child entrapping the arrogant rapscallion?
Story elements I'm reading are the bird/butterfly, The boy/girl, and then the balloons.
...and demon eyes (and what's she holding?).

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
