For all of those people who are tired of anorexic looking kitty models. Don't worry, no anorexic kittens were eaten during the making of this... well perhaps one or two... who are we kidding, he would have to be able to get up and catch one first. ---- Quick story about inspiration behind this cat. About a year ago, I was very new to the area, and I happened across a songbird that had been injured. I called EVERYWHERE trying to find someone who would take in this little bird, but no one could help me if it wasn't a bird of prey. So, I found a local vet who would. When I got to the office, the lady took the bird and asked me to wait there. I started looking around the office, and sprawled out on its back on a table was this giant plush stuffed kittycat. I found it to be rather odd room decor. I sat on the bench and waited, and I started coughing, and suddenly the stuffed animals eyes opened, and instead of moving its head to look at me, it's eyes sort of just rolled over in its head my way. I said quite loudly "omg it's alive!" Anyhow, the name of the kitty it turned out was "the pig"... when the vet got him, he was rather sick from hypothyroidism, hence his obesity. I think I might make this a print and swing by the office, because I rather think they would get a kick out of it. And I am rather fond of this painting, I really wanted to give it an almost oil painted look, hopefully I sort of achieved it. photoshop 7.0, people who have seen my sketchbookx on cgtalk know I do loads of kitty sketches...oh, and really this is the last submission for a while. I'm not addicted. Really. *twitch* and here's a closer look - [link] |

The branchlike things were brushes made by me from a photo I took of this abstract looking thing I have in my living room. I then painted over the one in the foreground to bring it out a bit. Loads of textures, as well as fur brushes were used for the fur.
hope that answers the question

"Don't think. Thinking is the enemy of creativity. It's self-conscious, and anything self-conscious is lousy. You can't try to do things. You simply must do things." -- Ray Bradbury
No, I'm not German. I'm Dutch. You Americans allways hire Dutch actors to play German criminals. So I'm not surprised a cat is hired to play a pig, you guys are TWISTED!
