I started out wanting to be completely illustrative with the Tori painting, then decided to go the tried and true route of airbrushing the shite out of it, but basically ran out of time as the date was already extended, so you get the bizarre "wtf?" mixture of both... just in case you're scratching your head on that count.
I scrapped sketch after sketch, not even being really happy with the last, but it's something as opposed to moths in my pocket. Really, the fact that there's anything painted at all above this description is an achievement for me as I have the world's biggest mental blockade when it comes to any sort of deadline, even if it's the longest deadline ever.
When I started this I was doing it for a friend (here's to you, Oz ), as I really knew little of Tori aside from all he had told me up to that point. yeah... enough of a description, methinks.
I would like to know if I could have permission to feature this design on my own Tori Amos themed website? I would of course give all credit to you and any appropriate links (to here or your own website) if you like. It's so beautiful.
I love her flame red hair. It's gorgeous, as is her purple dress & green eyes - their expression is just perfect, clever & somewhat devious. This is lovely & naturally I love the 'Alice' reference ^^
My art teacher loooves Tori Amos. I told her to come look at this and she was like... OHMG let me seeee! I love this piece! The only problem is that she doesn't look much like Tori Amos when it's full size. When it's smaller I can totally see it.
especially how casually the lamshade is being slowly put on her head
and then a random cat
love it!
