No, they're not koi, I know.. sounded better than goldfish balloon holding boy. :/

I spent the majority of my day working on this, in fact I haven't had anything to eat and my head is now throbbing. This was meant to be the cover of my balloon tutorial... but I like it as a stand alone painting, so it looks like I'll have to do another for that.


I rendered the boy more than I had meant to, so I forced myself to stop, prying my own tablet-pen out of my pudgy ickle fingers.

This was featured in issue 14 of ImagineFX magazine in the "Henning Spotlight" So I have to say thank you to :iconhenning: and :iconkyena: for that... was very sweet of them. I haven't seen it yet, and am a little nervous about seeing it... haha but I've gotten letters from people who have read it and liked it, so I'm excited for it to arrive in the US.

damn I love the lighting on the boy.. incredibly.. captivating.

Baloons are well done and I like the whole composition. Great touch adding that ever so subtle background of what looks to be destroyed buildings..
